Effects of Cocaine or Drug Abuse in Behavior
There is no doubt that more people, young and old alike, are increasing abusing drugs. Whether it’s cocaine, prescription medication, meth or any other drug; addiction has grown over the last couple of years.
Back in the day, cocaine and drug abuse were rampant in slums and ghettos but now, even suburban areas are hunted by addiction. For those trying to understand the root cause of addiction, it’s like a never-ending uphill battle. Addiction is a complicated process and there are many reasons behind.
As complicated as its source might be, so are its effects. Cocaine, for instance, almost creates an entirely new person in the user. Cocaine users, once they become thoroughly addicted to the drug often lose interest in life. If they were active in sports or any other hobby, they would lose interest in doing this. They would even start alienating friends and family. Once cocaine use becomes extreme, paranoia and anxiety could end up haunting the person. Even if cocaine can be used to enhance the feelings of a person for a short period of time; once it is abused, it often creates more havoc than usual.
Cocaine normally acts on the brain receptors and reduces the capacity of the person to feel pleasure every time it is used. Hence, people who use the drug several times will need a higher dosage in order to feel “high” every single time they use the drug.
Behaviors of drug addicts become more and more unpredictable throughout time. This is especially true once they start hallucinating. Often, they could even become violent.
Treating cocaine or drug addiction should become a top priority if in case you know someone who is hooked on the drug. Although it might not be easy to convince them they need help, try and make them understand that they need your help in order to straighten their lives again.
