Warning Signs of Cocaine Addiction

A lot of us know that cocaine is becoming a growing problem for a lot of Americans. The drug isn’t only affecting those in the ghetto but it is slowly creeping up through the suburbs.

If you are scared that your child, friend or relative might be using cocaine, there are a couple of signs that you can watch out for.

Some of the physical signs of cocaine include the following, runny nose, watery eyes, increased blood or heart pressure, dilated pupils, and insomnia. People using cocaine can also become restless, talkative, pretty anxious and also have really high energy levels. These are noticeable side effects from using the drug and might vary from one person to another.

As for the behavioral and emotional signs that you can look for in a person using cocaine, this can include any subtle or intense changes in moods and attitude. Cocaine can also cause someone to become extremely talkative and always have them on the go or always fidgeting. Depression and lethargy is also another sign of cocaine addiction.

Anger is also another sign that someone is abusing cocaine. They will normally be insulted and take offense over simple comments. Of course, not everyone who is angry all the time may be using the drug, but these are often more pronounced and more frequent in cocaine addicts.

If you still want to find out if a person is using cocaine, you can also look into the paraphernalia he or she has. For example, pocket mirrors, small plastic tubes or even dollar bills that you can tell have been rolled into tubes can be a sign that someone is using this harmful substance.

Cocaine is an extremely addictive substance so it is important to go ahead and know the signs in order to help someone get off the drug as soon as possible.
