Cocaine – Facing Death Because of Addiction

If there is one drug that is famous for causing tons of serious problems, then cocaine is leading the pack. There’s no doubt that cocaine usage among people, both young and old, have been increasing throughout time.

Cocaine has a very high addiction rate and it is hard for a person who has tried out the drug several times to not become addicted to it. Cocaine has very powerful ingredients which act directly to stimulate the brain. They trigger feelings of euphoria in the individual and most of the time, this is the feeling that most addicts are left craving for.

The only problem is that users would often need a much higher dose the next time around since their brain would develop some sort of immunity from the previous dose. Hence, the more they use, the higher and higher the dosage they need just to experience that euphoric feeling.

Cocaine can be snorted, sniffed, injected or smoked. Although they have the same deadly and serious consequences, there is several minor health problems associated with the drug depending on how it is administered. For example, snorting the drug can cause irritation in the nasal lining or cause constant runny nose.

The effects of the drug are quite serious. They can range from dilated pupils, increased blood pressure and heart rate, moodiness, depression, violence and anger and sometimes it could even lead to unexpected death or cardiac arrest. If it doesn’t cause death or serious immediate problems, the drug can cause paranoia, violent behavior and seizures.

Undergoing or enrolling in a rehab program is still the best way to go ahead and cure cocaine addiction. Making sure that a particular program works great for the person is essential in order to help them overcome their cocaine habit.

Kicking cocaine will not happen overnight but as long as the first step is taken, then there is still hope.
